Mindfulness and Body-focused Coaching

Mindfulness and Body-focused Coaching (MBFC) Training is for professionals interested in incorporating this model of treatment into their therapeutic/coaching toolbox. Ms. Good specialises in the use of this model with addiction.

Mindfulness and Body-focused Coaching for Addiction

This training seminar will introduce participants to the fundamentals of Mindfulness and Body-focused Coaching for Addiction.  The International Coaching Federation (ICF) has established clear parameters regarding the distinctions between coaching and psychotherapy. Coaches work using a co-active model where the alliance is designed by the coach and client and the focus is on evolving and manifesting the client’s potential. An exploration of actions and behaviors that manifest high self-esteem are focused on and negative self-beliefs are viewed as temporary obstacles (Saboteurs). I have found that in my work as a therapist I have been able to successfully use the tools and principles of mindfulness and coaching with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, sexual addiction, and drug/alcohol addiction, to ease their suffering and to help them with making lasting changes. By brining a coaching framework and related interventions to your toolbox you will better be able to serve clients.

In Mindfulness and Body-focused Coaching for Addiction, the coach/therapist assists the client to learn to use mindfulness in order to have a more peaceful, fulfilled and purposeful life. Mindfulness builds insight and assists the client with finding their inner strength in order to overcome harmful habits. One of the benefits of mindfulness is that clients learn to relate to emotions, thoughts, and feelings in a fluid manner, letting them come and go without becoming overly attached to them. This practice, integrated with body-focused coaching, assists the therapist with following the client’s agenda, tracking their experience, and supporting them to make lasting changes that leave them feeling empowered.
